Danilo Breschi

Dr Danilo Breschi is Associate Professor of the History of Political Thought at the Università degli Studi Internazionali di Roma (UNINT), where he also teaches Elements of International Politics and Theories of Conflicts. He is the senior editor of Il Pensiero Storico: Rivista internazionale di storia delle idee. He is a member of the advisory boards of Rivista di politica and of the Istituto Storico per il Pensiero Liberale (ISPLI). He has written numerous articles, essays and books on modern and contemporary history, the history of political cultures, political philosophy, and anthropology.

Among his books are, with Gisella Longo, Camillo Pellizzi. La ricerca delle élites tra politica e sociologia (1896-1979) (Soveria Mannelli, 2003; Sognando la rivoluzione. La sinistra italiana e le origini del ’68 (Florence, 2008); Spirito del Novecento. Il secolo di Ugo Spirito dal fascismo alla contestazione (Soveria Mannelli, 2010); Meglio di niente. Le fondamenta della civiltà europea (Florence, 2017); and Mussolini e la città. Il fascismo tra antiurbanesimo e modernità (Milan, 2018). He also edited and introduced a new Italian translation of Thomas More’s Utopia (Florence, 2018).
